Casting and Heat Treatment of Metal Brackets for the Trucking Industry

An Illinois-based truck manufacturing company asked us to cast and heat-treat metal brackets. We acquired heat-treated, austemptered, ductile iron castings which were primed in black. Our team then took the castings and drilled holes, deburred, and milled flats and spot-faces on them using a Mazak H630 CNC mill.

We were able to complete 10 pieces of 10.250″ x 8.50″ x 4.25″ metal brackets all within tightest tolerances of +/- .010″. To ensure the best quality, we tested and inspected the brackets using a hardness tester, micrometer, caliper, and a CMM.
