Fabrication of Boss Weldment for the Construction Industry

A heavy construction equipment company from Georgia hired our team to fabricate a steel boss weldment. We started with hot-rolled 1026 steel tubing and steel forging. The tubing was cut to a length of 10.750″ ±.020″ using a Kasto saw.

Using our Mazak CNC lathe, we faced, bored and, chamfered both ends of the tube before welding the bosses to the tube using a Miller MIG welder. Each of the steel weldments was tested with a caliper and is within tightest tolerances of +/- .008″ OAL.
